My friends suggested I switch over to Dr Rosenbloom after an uncomfortable experience with my previous Ophthalmologist. I find Dr Rosenblum gentle, compassionate and knowledgable. He takes time to answer my many questions, and has an excellent “chair side” manner. He even draws pictures for my persistent questioning mind! I recently had a laser procedure from him, which went smoothly and easily. All his staff and front office are also excellent.

I see Dr. Nakajima once a year for an eye exam. She is so kind and patient. She always goes above and beyond, and I appreciate all her knowledge and experience. I highly recommend Dr. Nakajima and Monterey Ete Center.

I had cataract surgery on November 25, 2025. Prior to that surgery I was told that if there was a large difference between the 2 eyes after the cataract surgery that a second surgery for the other eye would quickly be performed. The surgery was successful. Dr.Shi did a great job. At my age goodnews is unexpected but i could see from my right eyd better than for decades. I saw Dr. Nakajima, the optometrist on December 23, 2025 to see if I could get new glasses because of the change in my vision. She told me that there was a large difference now between the two eyes of 2.5 to 3 diopters. She was nice and informative. She explained Dr. Shi was gone for the holidays and to call after the New Year.so i call to make an appointment with Dr. Shi to find out if I need cataract surgery on the other eye because I cant get new glasses until I know what is possible. So they schedule me to meet with Dr. Shi my ophthalmologist and surgeon for the 19th - not Jan 19 but February 19, 2026. 6 weeks! So 3 months have elapsed since my cataract surgery on the right eye. The two eyes are somewhat off at 2.5 to 3 diopters. I dont know what that means -a little or a lot. But i cant get new glasses until I find out if a second eye cataract surgery can be performed under my insurance or whether it is not covered by insurance and then what the 2nd cataract procedur is likely to cost out of pocket and whether Dr. Shi thinks a 2nd procedure is needed. This seems like a long time to wait -At least 4 months between procedures. Dr. Shi was brilliant. Her work exemplary and my right eye vision is even better than expected. Dr. Nakajima was also fantastic in the completeness of her examination and concerns regarding the 2nd eye procedure being paid for by insurance. The techs here have all been lovely and caring people and highly competent. The receptionists are nice too even when they're busy. Its actually a busy but excellent place. But I can't get glasses until I meet with Dr. Shi and the lapse of time is concerning. So I wrote the 4 star review and the wonderful Alejandra called me back after 2 days, scheduled surgery on my left eye and all related appointments. Highly responsive- competent, paatient- courteous. These are intelligent and warm hearted people who care about their patients in a busy yet supportive practice. I was lucky to find them.

Dr. Nakajima was exceptional at explaining my eye condition and the treatment I needed. I highly recommend her.
