Monterey Bay Eye Center is awesome! Super professional, helpful, and good prices! Lisa the optician provides the absolute best service! I moved away from Monterey a few years ago and she still goes out her way to take care of our family. I just mail her new frames and a prescription and she takes care of the rest. They also have warranties on some of their products that they honor without question (not sure which ones, they’ve definitely replaced my lenses a few times for free after I got some big scratches). Thanks guys! —— 2025 Update —— Moved to Oklahoma and tried using a local optician. Absolutely no comparison. MBEC is still the best place to do business.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes a week apart. Dr. Shi was excellent both in her surgical ability and beside manner. She clearly explained everything to me from start to finish no mysteries involved. Her staff at her office is also very well trained and professional. I had my surgeries a week apart, the last one was just this past Tuesday. It’s only been 2 days and already I can notice the difference in my eyesight. If you’re having problems seeing and have been diagnosed with cataracts please go see Dr Shi or any of the other surgeons in that practice. It’s a life-changing event and virtually painless.. Follow-up treatment is basically using different types of eye drops at different times of day, it’s very easy. You’ll be happy that you did so.
